The Emotional Support after Plastic Surgery

Deirdre Sours

My dear Ladies,

Over the years, I have had hundreds of conversations with many of you having undergone Plastic Surgery, who are very confused about “what happens now” after the surgery. Although you did obtain basic information at the Doctor's office about what will be needed, and what to expect during your convalescence period, a major role is the emotional aspect you are going through, and not having any support and anybody to talk to. The Doctors' offices are very busy with their next patients, and have little time to cater to all the many questions and feelings creeping up in your minds. Some of you have been very scared, all by yourselves, and feeling depressed. For us girls, it always helps to talk it out - we know that - that’s like therapy for us:).

So here are a few pointers: Depression can be a side effect of all the medications you have been taking and the anesthesia you have gone through. Everybody reacts differently, but having support and somebody to be there and listen is very important. You may want to ask your Doctor if he can subscribe some relaxing medication for a few weeks until you feel better.

Regarding finding the right garments, sizes, and fitting you properly, Bonito can help. No doubt. We are also available to listen, support, and hopefully make you laugh! That’s always the best medicine for me!

I actually enjoy helping in making a concerned and confused patient feel better, so don’t hesitate to call us. I mean it. If we don’t answer, leave a message - we do call back. Us girls must stick together, and help each other, whichever way we can. So don’t hide in your home feeling bad - reach out, and “magic” will be given back to you.

With all my love!
